Modern Melee CombatApril 29th to May 5th, 2007

It was a while ago that Modern Melee Combat, the game that is being released today, won the user selected project poll. The next winner, which was Modern Dungeon Romp by a significant lead over Cribbage, shouldn't take quite as long as it shares a huge amount of the code that was written for Modern Melee Combat. That means that I need a replacement for the poll. As I now have Flash CS3, it is only right that I have a Flash project but as Action fans have been left out of the voting so far, it should be an action game. This lead to a dilemma about what I should do. I finally decided that the action version of my Coffee Quest series would be the best choice as it shares the code that is in development for the other Coffee Quest games that a lot of visitors keep harassing me about so I would be able to kill two birds with one code library. The Cribbage fans will probably be disappointed by this as if they know how voting goes, they know which game is going to end up winning the vote, but all old votes are retained so keep voting for it and it will eventually have enough votes to win!

Mother's Day 2007May 6th to May 12th, 2007

As readers of my Blazing Games Development Blog already know, I am not going to be finished Modern Dungeon Romp until at least next week. That being said, there is a functional (but not finished) version of the game at the ultimateretro.java.dev.net site that you can compile and run yourself. This week, as mother's day is this sunday, is going to be an ActionScript 3 that I wrote specifically for my mother, but figured that most of my site visitors have mother's as well and may want to show their mother's this animation. You will need Flash Player 9 to run the animation.

One of those Weeks episode 27May 13th to May 19th, 2007

Modern Dungeon Romp is not quite ready yet (see my blog for the details) so in it's place I am releasing the 27th episode of One of those Weeks early. The criminals who kidnapped you a few days ago are hunting you down. Their boss wants you dead or alive. They have guns, you don't. Don't you wish you were back on the island? I should point out that I am still in the process of moving One of those Weeks over to my new game page format, so older episodes may not have transitioned yet, but all the episodes should be in the new format by the end of this weekend.

Modern Dungeon RompMay 20th to May 26th, 2007

Modern Dungeon Romp is ready! Yes, I have fixed the problems and have finished the site selected game that was voted for three weeks ago. This game is, well, a dungeon romp. You are in a monster filled dungeon and must reach the bottom of the dungeon to find the key for the exit. The next visitor selected game is the 0.1 release of Coffee Quest Revenge. This will be a playable version of the game, but be far from feature complete. This game will take a while, so the poll will be devoted to aspects of that game so that my visitors will have some say in how the game evolves.
