Making One of those Weeks 15July 29th to August 4th, 2007

Last week was a new episode of One of those Weeks. I am slowly falling behind in my releasing of the open source version and making of eBook so it is only appropriate that today's release is chapter 15 of the Making of One of those Weeks eBook. This chapter covers episode 15 of the game.

One of those Weeks Episode 16 Open Source ReleaseAugust 5th to August 11th, 2007

I have a lot of interesting things in the works, but nothing is ready yet so this week I will release the Open Source version of One of those Weeks episode 16. Newcomers to the site may not be familiar with open source software so I will again quickly run over the concept. While all my games are copyrighted material, the open source releases are distributed using a license called the GPL. This allows you to freely use the open source episodes however you want. Because the source code (what software is created from) is included, you can even modify the episode how you like as long as you follow the rules outlined in the license. I am writing an in-depth article about this subject, with early drafts of the article appearing in my Blog.

August 12th to August 19th, 2007

Today's game is a very different kind of game but is also a very important game so if you like the Blazing Games web site, be sure to play the game this week. If you are reading this in the news archives, know that the game was only playable from August 17th to August 23rd 2007. What is this game? It is called the project rating game. You get to rate five of the projects from most favorite (1) to least favorite (5). The results of these votes and what you have caused to happen as a result of your votes will be announced next week along with a proper game. Then next week, after you play that week's game, you get to send hate mail to me so you will have extra fun next week as a result of playing this week's game. While I don't like to post strategy guides or walk through's until a while after a game has been released, I will make an exception this week and tell you to make sure that you give a 5 to the project that you like the least. For those of you who don't think this is a game, watch "Deal or No Deal" and you will see that if something like that show can be called a game, then this definitely qualifies (and now some of you get to send me hate mail a week early).

One of those Weeks episode 30: The Storage RoomAugust 19th to August 25th, 2007

Well, the poll was kind of disappointing. I had three objectives for the poll, and all three to some extent failed. Details will be in my blog as soon as I get a chance to post it. I am going to take a bit of a break from polls, but do value visitor feedback so will probably have more polls in the future. As promised, this week's game is a real game. Anybody looking at a calendar probably already figured out what was going to be released last week and if they guessed episode 30 of my One of those Weeks series, they were correct. In this episode you are locked in a storage room and have to find a way out before the commander returns
