While this seems like a bad card, it is actually a fairly positive card. Death reflects the simple fact that all things must end, but endings usually result in new beginnings. The old must die to make way for the new which means that sometimes you need to let go of the past in order to embrace the changes that are coming your way. Often this card can be interpreted as a parting of the ways.

Death, as represented by this card, can be considered a transformation like the caterpillar becoming a butterfly. In order to grow, we have to change and often change results in a loss in some areas of our life while other parts of us grow. Death can be thought of as a door closing behind you. While one door has closed, other doors have opened.

Loss is often a result of Death. Far too often we morn the loss and do not look at the potential that the future holds. For this reason, sometimes this card is simply telling you that you are stuck in a rut.
