The Path to Landing

The game used a technique where the entire map was an image. This had the benefit that the map was extremely easy to implement as was the hit detection. It had the downside of being limited in size due to various restrictions the version of Flash that the game was developed for had. Flash still has restrictions on how big an image can be. A better solution, which is something that I have implemented in other games that I have done, is the use of a tile map. This would have allowed for a much larger map.

Here is the map of the game level. Having a good idea of the path you are going to take through the space station makes the game a lot easier and makes it possible to finish the game with a really short time.
