The Rainbow Solution

Once you have picked up all the color balls, or at least one of the balls, you can start working on the second half of the puzzle. By walking to the left you come to another area that has a board that has five slots that appear to hold something. What could you possibly put into those slots? The balls would fit. But when I place the yellow ball into the first slot it disappears and the mound that it was originally in suddenly has been covered up again. Trying the red ball in the first slot works though. It isn't that much work to have to go back and retrieve the ball, but trial and error is a bit of a pain. There must be some logical pattern to this problem.

There must be a sequence of colors, perhaps a spectrum. When I think of a color spectrum, I think of nature's color spectrum. The Rainbow. When I think of rainbows, I think of Roy G. Biv. While Roy is not a real person, or at least not a person I have heard of, I know his name because it is a mnemonic for remembering the order of the colors in the rainbow. Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. There are only five of those colors in the form of color balls, but still the sequence should be obvious. For the sake of completeness, below is a picture of the solution.

Final solution

When the five balls are placed into their proper spots, something special happens, which also happens to be show in the solution screen-shot above. A number appears in the orbs. This is a significant number, and why you would dream about this number is explained in chapter 25. So, when playing episode 25 you should remember the number 88032. Of course, if your memory is as bad as mine is, you can simply come back to this chapter and take a look at the above screen shot when you are playing episode 25.
