There's Blue in Them Hills

This episode of the game is a kind of special episode as it holds the key to a later episode. That information is revealed right at the end of the episode which means that the player is going to have to solve this episode (or read this walk through if they are not able to figure out this episode on their own) in order to complete a later episode. While this goes a bit against my overall design goals for this series, in this particular case it does work with the story. I will be explaining the logic explanation behind this link in chapter 25 but logic purists should be happy to know that there is a rational explanation for this knowledge.

The episode starts the player off floating in the air. This should be a pretty clear tip that the player is dreaming. Below the player is some colored balls and some Blue Screen of Deaths (BSoDs). This is only the first half of the puzzle. The trick to this puzzle is simply observation and the ability to translate information from an overhead perspective to a side perspective.

The picture below shows you the solution to the first half of this puzzle. You simply need to dig up the color orbs without digging up any BSoDs. The location in the official version of this game is constant, so this picture represents the solution. Obviously, you should only use this picture if you are having trouble following the movements of the orbs and BSoDs, but even then the consistent nature of this puzzle shouldn't require the use of this picture to solve it. Still, for the sake of completeness, here it is.
