The following Flash applet is a simple demonstration of my Image Atlas library. The purpose of this library is to have a bitmap-based asset management and animation system that will work in multiple languages. While flash doesn't really need this functionality (it is easy to create a movie clip made up of individual images, after all), doing things this way will make it easier to port the engine to other platforms with HTML 5 being the first target for porting (probably followed by Objective C using Open GL/ES).
The source code for this is being released under the MIT license. Here is the first build.
