<-- Previoust Year (2008) * Next Year (2010) -->
The new year starts off with a new season of Dozen Days of Words. Each month will be a word game that is developed in under 24 working hours as detailed in the development journal that accompanies each episode. Those who want early access to the development journal can find early links in the Blazing Games Development Blog.
Here is a really interesting puzzle game based on chess. The goal of this puzzle is to have a knight traverse a chess board touching every square on the board once and only once. Even if you don't play chess, this game can be entertaining. For non-chess players, like myself, the knight is the horse and it moves in an L. I should also point out to non-chess players that if you do know chess players don't ever refer to the knight as the horse as they seem to get offended at that.
The second episode of Dozen Days of Words is not technically a word game but it does have letters and was simply a game I couldn't get out of my head so I fiugred it was close enough of a word game to be put into this series. Feel free to email me your complaints.
Friday the 13th is the day I have chosen to release updates to my Thirteen Spikes Unlimited game. This release adds skins to the game
The first twelve days of the month I released One of those Weeks Day 5 open source relases and the making of articles. The days alternated between a source code release and the mathing making of article. Friday the 13th is the day I have chosen to release updates to my Thirteen Spikes Unlimited game. This release adds campaigns to the game
A slight bit late due to unexpected developments and sickness, but this is a classic game that needs to belong in a collection of word games.
Build all the words on the word list before your game board gets overgrown in this semi-original game.
A look at the work required to finish the creation of the first coffee quest game followed by a look at the creation of Coffee Quest GL, which is a great game if your computer can run it but too many people had problems running the game. I was also going to have a poll about what game you would most like to see updated but simply didn't have the time to put that together tonight so ask that those who are interested in participating email me with the name of the game you most want to see updated.
Another semi-original game that I am calling word-shift. It can best be described as a combination of my Rotation Puzzle game with my Growing Words game
Yet another semi-original game that I am calling word-shift. It can best be described as a combination of my SlidingPuzzle game with my Growing Words game Thanks to the similarity with episode 5, I was able to finish the game very quickly so had time to add sound and animation.
The beta edition of Dungeon Romp 3D is simply a 3D version of the dungeon romp game.
Your typical crossword game like you find in most newspapers. The theme of this puzzle is Blazing Games themed so familiarity with the games I have created in the past will be helpfull.
A trivia game with an explosive time limit. You must correctly answer 3 questions (from a choice of 6) before the fuse runs out. Four increasingly more difficult levels make up this game.
Not really a word game, but it was a game that I couldn't get out of my mind and it does have sentences in it.
This episode was more of an arcade game than an adventure game so the source code is probably more aimed at people interested in creating arcade games..
The 1.0 build (finished, not beta) of the 3D version of Dungeon Romp. A lot of changes have been made to the game and the reported drop item bug has been fixed.
The 1.0.1 build (finished, not beta) of the 3D version of Dungeon Romp now supports the Deadly Edition of the game.
The 1st beta build of my Halloween game. It contains the first episode map only with the other two episode maps to be released later this month.
Day six starts off with a dream sequence that resembles a classic arcade game. For people interested in the creation of arcade games, this chapter will probably prove to be quite interesting.
The second release of Vampire Attack contains the first two episodes of this game which will hopefully be finished in time for it's Halloween release.
The Open Souirce release of One of those Weeks Episode 36: Touring the System.
All three episodes of Vampire Attack 2, my Halloween game for 2009, make up this week's release. You must make your way into the vampire's castle and find it's coffin before night falls. The vampire, however, has many creatures protecting it.
Friday the 13th is the day I have chosen to release updates to my Thirteen Spikes Unlimited game. This release adds the ability for players to create their own levels.
A Role-playing game with a Christmas theme. The evil gnomes (from Santa's Snowball and Santa's Search) have kidnapped Santa's Elves while bringing some toys and snowmen to life. The current version is an Alpha version which means that it is not even finished being coded but is being presented as a sneak preview
Scoring has been added to Vampire Attack 2, and the strategy guide has been added for those of you who are having trouble finishing the game.
