Modern Circle WordOctober 1st to 7th, 2006

The daily voting for which projects I work on (see the coming soon page for details) has actually been very diverse this week which is really nice to see. Next week there will only be four 2 hour blocks voted for as I am taking off the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday off (Monday October 9th. Today's game is the modern version of Circle Word. The source code for this game has already been released on ultimateretroproject.dev.java.net for those who are interested.

Thirteen Spikes Pumpkin EditionOctober 8th to 14th, 2006

The weekend off wasn't that great as I was sick over the weekend (and am just now finally getting over my cold). When I did return to the daily poll (every day I am putting in 2 hours towards the project my visitors choose. See the coming soon page for details and to vote) I replaced the projects that were getting no votes with new projects. Queen's Challenge has been open sourced, and there has been work on the Ultimate Retro Projects Melee Combat game. Of course, friday's poll has not closed yet, so I don't know which project will get the weekend vote, and the voting is quite close. Of course, it is time to post the official game for this week. To celebrate both Friday the 13th and Halloween, I have decided to create a new set of levels for 13 Spikes and am proud to announce the Pumpkin Edition of that game.

October 15 to 21st, 2006

Halloween Circle Word This is not the game that I had planned on having today, but I have been quite busy with other stuff (and will be for at least another few weeks) so I just never finished what I wanted to release today yet. That said, it is nearing halloween so today I am having another halloween theme game. More specifically, I have created some new word lists for the Modern Circle Word game that you can now use. Voting this week was a bit interesting as I have trimmed down the number of open source projects that I am working on and made sure that there is at least one project from each category. As this weekend is my birthday so the vote for this weekend (friday-sunday) open source work is not happening, but instead you can start voting for monday's open source work on the coming soon page (which has a nice new look).

Halloween ScratchOctober 22th to 28th, 2006

Two things have been released. First of all is from the Coming Soon vote and is the open source version of Darts. I should point out that right now this is a flash source file, but I am going to be porting it over to Flex 2 (which has a free SDK available for it so that people without a budget can modify my game). The bigger release is the Halloween Scratch game. This is a Halloween version of my Lucky Scratch game, but instead of a lucky symbol, you are scratching for a lucky monster.

October 31st Special Vote

First of all, I hope everyone is having a great halloween. As many visitors already know, the coming soon page lets visitors vote on which open source project they want me to focus time on. Yes, all these projects are Blazing Games created projects, but that may not always be the case. While I have been working on the various projects from day to day, every day is a different project. After putting in my 9 to 5 (or 6 or sometimes 8) third party work (which will become internal shareware project work when I am between third party tasks) I have found that getting back into the project isn't as smooth as it should be. I am thinking that I should perhaps keep the existing vote but instead of a couple hours , the vote would be for the entire following week's work. Of course, I figure that I should let my loyal visitors (and any other visitor that wants to vote) make the decision for me, so for the rest of this week, I am having a vote (the daily votes on the coming soon page will also be occurring). Of course, either way I would put in the same amount of time.

Voting is over! Winner of vote was to make the open source vote for a weekly project!
