A demake of Coffee Quest for the Atari 2600.

Last Updated: March 23, 2014

Overview

This game was created for the Mini-Ludum Dare#50 by Billy D. Spelchan. The theme was Demakes so I took my Coffee Quest game and de-made it for the Atari 2600. This is not just a cut-down resolution version of the game but took all the limitations of the system into accout so it should be possible to actually do this on the 2600 if I had the time to write the assembly language necessary. If you would like to see this game running on an emulator, email me (spelchan at blazinggames dot com). If enough people are interested, I will actually do this game for the 2600!

The goal of Coffee Quest is to make a cup of coffee. This requires gathering the eight components needed to make a cup of coffee: Coffee Maker, Water, Grinder, Power, Beans, Cup, Pot, and Filters.

The 2600 joystick is simulated using the cursor keys or WASD keys with the space bar or the E key representing the joystick button.

Press the space or E key to bypass the title screen and inventory screen. Us the up (W) key to move forward, left and right (A and D) to turn left or right. Pick up components by walking over them. When a component is picked up, the inventory screen will show you your current status. Get all eight components to win.
