A Colorful chemical puzzle

The key to completing this episode is unlocking the three locks that keep the door to the portal closed. Each of the locks require a specially prepared chemical strip. The creation of these strips then becomes the key to solving the episode. The clues necessary to the creation of these strips where given to the player in the previous episode. As was explained in the previous chapter, the two episodes were originally going to be a single episode but due to time constraints, I decided it would be best to break the episode into two. To unlock a lock, one simply needs to present a properly proportioned chemical strip to the lock. If the chemicals are not proportioned correctly, the lock will remain red and the strip will be erased. Locks turn green once the correct chemicals have been given to it.

The chemical strips are easy enough to find. The machine for putting the chemicals onto the strip is fairly simple to do. The first thing is to do is to insert a strip into the machine. The next step is to type in the chemicals to add to the strip. The chemicals that are going to be added to the strip have a letter, number, and color that can be used to reference them. The colors used to indicate what chemical was placed on the strip are shown on the machines display. This can be cleared if a mistake has been made. When ready, the mix button puts the chemicals onto the strip. Be sure to remove the strip after it has been mixed. The strips show the colors that make up the mix.

The chemical strips consist of a pair of chemicals in the correct proportions. This information is found in the previous episode. The actual chemicals to use are based on the professors favorite number, letter, and color. This means that only three of the chemicals are ever used in the preparation of a strip. The proportions are in the form of word puzzles. Basic math word-problems.
