Counting the Snakes

The scoring system in the game is based on hitting certain conversation points. These points set a flag so repeatedly going to the same point doesn’t give you multiple points. The target topics are as follows:

English ( score - 1 ) is a negative point as it is an indication that the player is not comprehending that some type of language translation is taking place. There is only one opportunity to get this target and getting it prevents the acquisition of the Translator target.

Translator ( score + 1 ) is a reward for recognising the use of a translation device and being excited about the technology. There is only one opportunity to get this target and getting it prevents the acquisition of the English target.

Medusian ( score + 1 ) This shows interest in the race that has just captured you. As you are going to have to deal with this race one way or another, knowing about them is important.

Space Station ( score + 1 ) Finding out information about where you are is always important.

Professor ( score +1 ) The Professor is a very important character in the next day of the game.

Sleep ( score - 1 ) While one could argue that when someone is talking about putting you to sleep and saying that you would like a rest could be deemed as humour, remember that we are dealing with an alien species so their concepts of humour may be different.

Intelligent ( score + 1 ) When your life depends on how intelligent someone else thinks you are, it is a good idea to know how they define intelligence.

Appeal ( score + 1 ) When going to court, it is wise to understand how the court system works.

Credits ( score + 1 ) Understanding how the monetary system works is only important if you survive your trial, but I am awarding a point here for the player’s optimism.
