No Strategy Needed

While my original plans for this episode of the game were more elaborate, time became a huge issue so I greatly simplified this episode of the game and made it more of a plot episode. While the interaction with this episode is minimalist, the story does advance quite a bit. What were my original plans? Well, read the next section to find that out.

I do not wish to spoil the story, so will recommend that if you have not played through the episode that you do so. After playing the game you will come to the same conclusion as I did about the need for a walkthrough section for this game. Still, some people may be trying to figure out the scoring for this game. For a fun exercise, play through the game and see if you can figure out how the scoring system works. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Figure it out? Quite simply, the scoring is done in real time. The quicker you click on the person to bring up the four dialog bubbles, the more you will score. To be fair about the scoring, the time spent reading the dialog bubble does not count against your score so you can feel free to take as much time as you want to read the dialog. I think it is worth reading, but then again I designed the game so am probably really biassed towards this.

A detailed explanation of how this scoring system was implemented is presented later in this article. For those of you who just want the basic details, 30 points are rewarded for speed. A point is deducted for every two seconds that you waist. Actually seeing the conversations (which is also optional) rewards you 5 points per conversation. Obviously, if you don't see all four conversations, you will not have scored any of the time bonus.
